In the wake of the explosion that is music/rhythm games, there comes a new addition to the genre, but one that does not rely on expensive peripherals to help players feel immersed into the experience. Ultimate Band, a game coming from Disney Interactive Studios, is not only different because of its absence of peripherals, but also because it targets a new audience. Unlike Rock Band and Guitar Hero, Ultimate Band looks to target teens and younger, to provide more of a family experience.
Gameplay will be done in a very similar manner to other titles. There will be four playable (Wii remote and Nunchuk) instruments, guitar, bass, drums, and mic. The soundtrack will sport over thirty songs, from artists such as The White Stripes and Weezer. GoNintendo reports that everything is 're-mastered' meaning songs will be performed in the gender of whoever is playing as the front man. There will also be interactive environments, where based on how well the band is playing the environment will react.
Ultimate band will provide a fun game for those teens and families who did not want to invest in buying and game and their peripherals. Look for it this holiday season.

I suspect the price will go up closer to it's release date. That's what happened with Wii Fit. If some stores do sell this on Black Friday, you may be able to see a discount but with very limited supply.
