Black Goes Pink This Holiday Season
CompUSA and Tiger Direct with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® on Black Friday In-Store and on Internet
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As Black Friday is typically a self-serving day for retailers to try and make as much money as possible, one retail group has decided to paint Black Friday pink. CompUSA (NYSE:SYX)and TigerDirect, leading retailers of consumer electronics and technology products, are branding November 28 as “Pink Friday” for the second year in a row and expect to raise more than $250,000 from a portion of total sales and from customer donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest breast cancer organization.
In addition to a minimum guaranteed donation from CompUSA and TigerDirect, customers can get involved in the following ways:
Customers will have the opportunity to donate $1, $5, $10 or $20 on top of their in-store or on-site purchase to Komen for the Cure.
A live webcast will be available on www.CompUSA.com and www.TigerDirect.com from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. in which limited quantities of products will be sold at 50 percent off their list price, with the full proceeds of the sale products going directly to Komen.
“Pink Friday is all about giving back to the community,” said Gilbert Fiorentino, Chief Executive of Systemax Inc. Technology Products business, which includes CompUSA and TigerDirect. “Between our donation and the opportunity for our customers to help assist us in this cause, we hope to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the charity and beat the $200,000 we raised last year.”
In addition to the website where the webcast will feature product reviews, an interactive Q&A with audience, how-to tips and more, the Pink Friday drive will take place at CompUSA’s 24 retail locations throughout the country and Puerto Rico.
