Wal-Mart is now calling it "The Yearly Event" and stores are detailing better crowd control strategies. Some stores will be roping off and guarding the pallets w/2-4 associates at a time. People will wait in line with a claim ticket to get their merchandise. No more tickets = sold out.
Thanks to MoonlitHollow for this rumor. _________________ Coupon Codes ~ FREE Registration ~ DaddyoDeals Hot Deals |

Wal-Mart to offer 100 toys for $10 during holidays
Article
CLICK THIS LINK to see the Deals at Walmart
BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, said Wednesday it will offer more than 100 toys at $10 during the key holiday season.
Wal-Mart is offering the promotion to attract recession-weary shoppers during the crucial holiday season, when toy retailers record up to 40 percent of annual sales.
Additionally, Walmart stores will match any local competitor's advertised offer on the same toy product if it falls below $10. That offer will expire after Christmas.
During last year's holiday season, the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer promoted just 10 toys at the $10 price.
The toy push comes as Wal-Mart works to hold on to gains it has made during the recession as bargain-conscious consumers have traded down to cheaper products and focused on the necessities — both its specialties.
Wal-Mart Chairman Robson Walton said Wednesday that "sales have been tough," despite gains from its Asian operations.
"I think this recovery is going to be a slow one," Walton told a global CEO business conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Some of the toys Wal-Mart is promoting this holiday include Barbie Cut and Style Rapunzel, a Play-Doh Burger Builder Set, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Action Figures, and My Little Pony So Soft Newborn.
Several board games are available for $10, including Connect 4, Battleship, Monopoly, Trouble and Jenga, among others.
After last year's dismal holiday, toy retailers are ramping up competition for consumers' dollars as the crucial holiday season approaches.
Wal-Mart's promotion comes as Toys R Us is aggressively expanding shelf space, opening 350 pop-up stores in malls and at its Babies R Us locations, while Sears will offer toys at 20 of its stores.
Most economists' predictions call for holiday sales to be flat at best when compared with a year ago. _________________ Coupon Codes ~ FREE Registration ~ DaddyoDeals Hot Deals |

Walmart to Stay Open to Avoid ‘Black Friday’ Lines
By Chris Burritt
Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will leave most
of its 833 U.S. discount stores open overnight on Thanksgiving
to avoid crowds gathering to get specials the following morning
after an employee was trampled to death a year ago.
Most of those stores will remain open after their regular
closing hour of 11 p.m., allowing customers to remain inside to
wait for the “Black Friday” special prices that start at 5
a.m., David Tovar, a company spokesman, said today in a
telephone interview.
Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, developed plans for
each of its stores to manage the flow of customers as they get
in, seek discounted merchandise, check out and leave on “Black
Friday.” The store in Valley Stream, New York, where Jdimytai
Damour, a temporary worker, was trampled on Nov. 28, 2008, is
among those staying open overnight, Tovar said.
“We would anticipate not having these long lines outside
the stores,” Tovar said from Bentonville, Arkansas, where
Walmart is based. The company’s 2,705 supercenters, which sell
general merchandise and groceries, already operate 24 hours a
day.
The holiday shopping season traditionally starts on so-
called Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, which falls on
Nov. 26 this year. Jockeying for discounted merchandise may
intensify this year as rising unemployment makes consumers more
desperate for bargains and retailers deepen markdowns to spur
sales, National Retail Federation executives said yesterday on a
conference call.
Spreading Items
The NRF recommended merchants coordinate crowd control with
local police and assign employees to interact with shoppers, as
well as spread discounted items, which Walmart plans to do.
Such steps are intended to “lessen the anxiety of those
lines of customers,” Rhett Asher, the NRF’s vice president of
loss prevention, said on the call. “The times are tough for
everybody. It’s no secret that customers are working harder for
those deals.”
In May, Walmart agreed to a crowd-control plan for Black
Friday events at its New York stores to avoid prosecution in
Damour’s death. The agreement with Nassau County District
Attorney Kathleen Rice didn’t include an admission of guilt or
wrongdoing by the retailer.
Walmart rose 31 cents to $52.31 at 4:01 p.m. in New York
Stock Exchange composite trading. The shares have slumped 6.7
percent this year.

BLACKBERRY BOLD FREE + $100.00 GC! Upgrade eligibility not required!
OK...so I just got off a call with Wal-Mart’s call center, because I can not believe this is a real deal. I have been looking to upgrade my Curve 8330 to the newer BOLD version that has a crisper screen & is a world phone. I went 2 weeks ago to the Verizon store and it was $149.00 out the door.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=542371
Here is the deal I just got:
CURRENT CHARGES TO BE BILLED BY: LetsTalk
Qty Price Subtotal Product Description
1 $199.99 $199.99 BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 (Verizon Wireless)
1 (199.99) (199.99) -$199.99 LetsTalk instant discount
FREE Shipping: Standard
$0.00 Tax: NC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$0.00 Total
This phone sells for $249.00 on Wal-Mart’s website, but is $199.00 for existing customers. That means that I am getting an INSTANT rebate of $199.00 on this phone and I am not even eligible for an upgrade until this time next year!
If that was not good enough...this phone falls within the weekend special that Wal-Mart offered for Blackberry phones. That means I got this as well:
ELIGIBLE REBATES FOR THIS ORDER: LetsTalk and its Partners
Qty Rebate Amount Subtotal Rebate Name
1 $0.00 $0.00 $100 Wal-Mart Gift Card
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$0.00 Total to be refunded*
It is very tricky the way this is laid out on the website, even the rep said that. Just get what you want in the shopping cart and then call with the session #. You will generate one by clicking on the "Order by phone" link at the top right corner of the page!
The offer extends your 2 year agreement, as usual, & is only contingent on keeping this service for the next 6 months. The GC is mailed to you within 4 weeks and the phone are even shipped for free! Anyone interested in upgrading to or even upgrading their existing Blackberry, like me, this is an unbeatable deal! YOU MAKE $100.00 & GET THIS FREE!
BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 (Verizon Wireless) also includes:
3.2 Megapixel Camera

Walmart has been a confusing retailer to track for Black Friday deals, which is unfortunate considering it is probably the most popular Black Friday retailer. Last year, this time, Walmart was threatening lawsuits for leaked ads. This year, they aren't being as aggressive, but their communications with Black Friday sites has been spotty.
Today, the Walmart team was willing to confirm the following deals with us:
"...we can confirm the following items:
-- Magnavox Blu Ray Disc Player for $78
-- Sanyo 50" Plasma HDTV for $598
-- Tom Tom 3.5" GPS for $59
-- Kids' licensed character sleepwear $3
-- $7 fleece reversible jackets for the family
-- Barbie Power Wheels Ride-On $88
We welcome all of our customers to shop us first for unbeatable prices!
Our stores will match the price of any local competitor's printed ad for
an identical product."
As we've covered before, many other Walmart ads/deals have been leaked. The list above hardly addresses the many other items rumored.
To add to the confusion, throughout the month, Walmart has been issuing Black Friday-like Rollback specials online as well as in-store Saturday-only specials.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Wal-Mart's much-awaited Black Friday deals will focus on a gamut of gadgets such as high-definition TVs, laptops and Blu-ray players, as well as holiday gift favorites such as toys and DVDs, according to a copy of the retailer's circular obtained by CNNMoney.com.
While not confirming the entire circular, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman confirmed some of the deals, which will be available between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. local time on Nov. 27, that appear in the leaked circular.
"There's a lot of excitement that builds up around electronics," said Wal-Mart's Tara Raddohl.
Items with confirmed prices for the day-after-Thanksgiving sale are a Sanyo 50-inch plasma 720p HDTV for $598, a Magnavox Blu-ray player for $78, a Tom Tom GPS for $59, select children's clothing for as low as $3, a $7 reversible fleece jacket for kids and adults, and the Barbie Power Wheels Ride-On, a toy Jeep, for $88.
Raddohl also said Wal-Mart will match the price of any local competitor's printed ad for an identical product
As more Americans tighten their gift lists -- and budgets -- retail experts expect Wal-Mart (WMT, Fortune 500) will become the destination of choice for many shoppers on the hunt for the lowest prices.
This holiday season, retail watchers expect sellers to duke it out with deep discounts on some models of HDTVs.
According to the circular, other early bird deals on Black Friday include a 32-inch Emerson LCD 720p HDTV for $248, and a 42-inch Emerson Plasma 720p HDTV ($448).
One of the juiciest Black Friday deals from Wal-Mart's rival Target reportedly is a 32-inch Westinghouse LCD HDTV for $246.
In the computer section, Wal-Mart's deals in the leaked circular include an eMachine laptop with a 15.6-inch LCD display, 2GB memory and 160GB hard drive for $198; a Hewlett-Packard laptop with a 15.6-inch display, 3GB memory and 250GB hard drive for $298; a Philips 4GB MP3/video player for $29; and an Xbox 360 console with three games for $199.
Other deals in electronics and appliances in Wal-Mart's Black Friday ad include an 8GB iPod Touch for $195 with a $50 iTunes gift card; $4 home appliances including a slow cooker and mini-mixer, $2 DVDs, and select toys priced between $5 and $9.
Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, is not expected to officially unveil its Black Friday deals until Nov. 23.
Separately, Wal-Mart said Monday that it isn't waiting until Black Friday to further chop prices on gadgets and toys.
The retailer said it is cutting prices 40% to 50%, and less or some products the weekend before Black Friday. Some of the discounts include a 26-inch Vizio 720p LCD HDTV for $248, down from $347; EZ Bake Oven for $16, down from $28; and packages for the Guitar Hero, Band Hero and DJ Hero video games that include a $40 gift card.
