ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque man has turned a penchant for pinching pennies into a booming online business.

The site called DaddyODeals.com is designed to save shoppers big bucks by consolidating online deals into one Web site.

"I was raised in a frugal family," Daddy O Deals founder Dan Church told KRQE News 13. "My mom was clipping coupons sometimes, and I picked up the habit from her."

Church then started wandering the Web looking for more ways to save.

"It got kind of tedious just going to all these different sites out there, and I thought I could probably do this better," he said.

That's why Church created DaddyODeals.com with he and two partners scouring the Web for bargains in local and online stores and posting them on the site.

Among the top 10 deals they found this week: Nintendo Wii for $249 with free shipping; a 42-inch LCD TV for nearly half off the listing price of $1,000; Sephora.com has several popular items up to 75 percent off.

"You see 40, 50, 60 percent, sometime 80 percent," Church said.

The site also lists deals for eating out.

"I spent $4 and now I have a $50 coupon for Whisque," he added.

About 250 people browse the site at any given time, and Church said more shoppers are using the free service since the economy took a dive.

The Daddy O folks are preparing for the busiest shopping day of the year, the Friday after Thanksgiving.

"We actually scan the Internet for Black Friday sales ads, and we actually have links to our Black Friday sales ads," Church said.

But you have to act fast.

"Deals come and go," Church continued. "What may be hot one day may not be hot the next."

It's free to use the Web site, and if you become a member you get e-mails on the day's top hot deals. You can also print coupons.
